Who builds Olvio

Meet Topicimes, the French company behind Olvio, and learn where Olvio runs, who can see your data and how to reach the team.

Who builds Olvio

Olvio is an AI shopping agent for Shopify stores. It's published and operated by Topicimes, a French company based in Le Mans. This article explains how Olvio works, where it runs, who can see your data and how to reach the team.

What Olvio does

Olvio answers your shoppers' questions on your product pages and can recommend other products from your catalog. Its answers come from your products, your store's pages, blog articles and policies, what you add on the AI Setup page, including Knowledge files and External web pages, and the product notes you write in the custom.olvio_knowledge metafield.

On the Growth and Scale plans, you can also offer the Olvio Advisor, a guided chat that recommends products. See What is Olvio? and What sources Olvio reads.

Your own Anthropic API key

Olvio runs on Anthropic's Claude models with your own Anthropic API key. On the API Key page, you choose the Claude model Olvio uses: Claude Haiku 4.5 (the default), Claude Sonnet 5 or Claude Opus 5.

Anthropic bills your Anthropic account directly for this usage, at its own prices. Topicimes doesn't invoice, mark up or resell Anthropic usage, and your Olvio plan price doesn't change with how much your shoppers chat. See Choose your Claude model and What uses your Anthropic API key, and what doesn't.

How the widget reaches your storefront

Olvio is added to your storefront from the Shopify theme editor, as an app extension. Olvio can't edit your theme code: it only has read access to your themes. The extension has two parts:

Shopify hosts the widget's files as part of the app extension. In the shopper's browser, the widget sends questions to Olvio's servers, which prepare the answers with Claude.

Where Olvio runs

Olvio is hosted on Cloudflare. Its database is in Cloudflare's Western Europe region. Its search index, its cache and the app itself run on Cloudflare's global network, which isn't restricted to the European Union. Cloudflare chooses the data center that handles each request.

To answer your shoppers, Olvio sends Anthropic the conversation and the relevant store information, using your API key. These requests pass through Cloudflare on their way to Anthropic. How Anthropic processes, keeps and transfers that data is governed by your own agreement with Anthropic and Anthropic's terms, not by Olvio's Privacy Policy.

The support chat in the Olvio admin is provided by Intercom. See Where is my data hosted? and Sub-processors list.

Who at Olvio can see your data

Olvio (Topicimes) staff can view your store's data through an internal, read-only console. It shows the same dashboards, conversation lists, transcripts (with the linked order, where there is one) and Customer question map as your Olvio admin, plus account and operational information such as your plan, install date, attributed revenue and technical health. The console is used only for support, incident diagnosis and service quality control. Access is limited to people Topicimes authorizes, protected by single sign-on, and every access is logged.

Olvio doesn't sell personal data, and doesn't use your content, your catalog or your shoppers' conversations to train AI models.

How to reach the team

Use the support chat in the Olvio admin. It's available on every Olvio admin page, including before you choose a plan, and it identifies your store automatically, so you don't need to say which store you're on.

For privacy questions or data protection requests, email the Data Protection Officer at [email protected]. See Contact us and support hours.

Updates and feature requests

Olvio is updated regularly, and most updates reach your store without any action from you. Some new features need you to turn them on: for example, the Olvio Advisor app embed must be on in your theme for Advisor links to open the Olvio Advisor across your store.

To suggest a feature or report a bug, send a message through the support chat in the Olvio admin.
